Philips OLED TV Compatibility

Post by edvanson »

Hi,
I am planning to purchase an asustor nimbustor 2 gen2 as5402tu to replace my old Synology DSM NAS.
Configuration will be:
2 x 4TB hard disk
2 x 1TB SSD
2 x 4GB Memory
The most important thing for use is being able to stream home-made 4K and HD holiday movies in MP4 format via the wired network.
The television I am going to use for this is a Philips 65OLED805, which is a 65 inch OLED TV with Android OS.
I do not see this television in the compatibility matrix.
Does anyone have experience with this combination and a similar use case?
What are things I should take into account?
Is this NAS the right device for this use case?
Which apps should I use on the NAS and TV?

There are so many TVs it's impossible for them all to be tested. I have an AS5402T as part of my Asustor collection and have no plans to change it soon.
I suggest starting with UPnP Media Server V2 then, if that doesn't work for you, you have a choice of Plex, Jellyfin, Roon and a dozen others.
