Hi,
I have a AS6204T and it's connected directly to my TV via HDMI.
Is it possible to lock the NAS / have a lockscreen as in Windows, so that you have to type a password before you can use the NAS?

Hi
Why do you need lock screen as in windows? If you want leave as while, you can turn off TV.

Re: lockscreen
Yes, it is possible to do this, but only if you install the HX_Engine that Father_Mande (Philippe) has made for us. Look in this forum for more info. http://forum.asustor.com/viewforum.php?f=154
Keep in mind this DOES take a bit of Linux knowledge to work with. And it will also require a few other things to make everything work right, such as WinSCP, keyboard and mouse on the NAS, and a little bit of reading between the lines on Philippe's English. (Not his native tongue, so sometimes you have to read it all through to get a gist, then go back and re-read it. Sometimes a few times...)
But this is an awesome addition to our NASes. And with the Plex Media Player or Plex Home Theater apps, can turn the NAS into a full Home Theater via HDMI. Much more stable than Kodi or XBMC could ever be with a library as large as mine, IMO....
BTW, crazynas, the reason to have a lock screen on the NASes HDMI output is to keep the kid's or wife's fingers out of the critical settings on the NAS. It's a good idea for a common room setup.
