How would you mount the NAS to the TV? Through what mechanics? There are already a ton of methods to stream media, if that's the desire.

Probably one of the better options is to use Plex, and you can find instructions on how to set up your NAS and your media on my signature. Samsung has a wonderful guru making the Plex Client app, and it's one of the best client apps Plex has going, even if it is a 3rd party app.

You don't say what model of NAS you have, so be warned, unless you have the 700x model, you are going to need to think about optimizing your media. This will include ensuring the files are in the right bitrate for the client app. I don't own a Samsung, so can't help you to determine the best bitrates, etc.

If all you want is a Home Theater, take a look at this tutorial I wrote a while back. http://forum.asustor.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=7231

It's also linked in my signature, as well as one other on Plex. I have the same model as my first NAS and ran Plex on it for almost a year. As long as the media is in the right file container (not MKV, MOV, AVI, RM, etc. Only Mp4) And the right codecs (H264 video and AAC stereo or AC3 or DTS) then it should direct play fine on your TV.

DLNA is problematic when your library starts getting larger than say 500 or 1000 movies/episodes. At least that was my experience with it. Right now I have over 2K movies and 18K TV episodes on Plex, and no problems watching what I want to watch. Finding it can be problematic with this much media, though... :)
