Set service access for users
With my previous Synology i could limit users to just be able to access through i.e. samba, or ftp, or any other available service. This doesn't seem possible with my new AS3104t!? A must have feature imho.

Re: Set service access for users
Access rights for applications are made when the user ID's are made, or can also be set for individual applications through App Privileges for non Admin accounts through Access Control.
I just tested this on my 7004T and that's the way it works there at least.

I think you misunderstood my post as I am not talking about apps.

Re: Set service access for users
Samba is done by the permissions you give the folders and the access rights the user's account gets for shared folders..
FTP is done the same way as Samba. The user can log in, but if there are no shared folders, he gets no directory displayed.
In both cases this is done through Access Control app.

I do understand, but I want to prevent the user from connecting at all.

Re: Set service access for users
You cannot. Accounts are enabled for all actives services. This is a lack in Asustor nas administration tool IMHO.

Major omission indeed.
