Hi
I'd like to request that the option to download files for users from a folder being given as read_only access to be switched on/off as required by an administrator.
Often people would like to provide access to files (photos) for users that can be seen but not actually downloaded.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Official ASUSTOR apps - File Explorer - REQUEST
IMHO, the File Explorer should be locked to the Admin only, and accessing any of the actual data on the NAS should be through a web front end.
I don't share the root access to the NAS in any way, shape or form. Everything I share out is individual ports, pointing to specific web instances or applications. I keep my data integrity, and the security it has, because I never share out the ADM port numbers. I changed the SSH ports to something very non-standard as another layer of protection. Only the admin account is enabled, so no one else gets to the data. No one can manipulate it, as they can't write/delete/copy or move it.
I know my model isn't for everyone, but, for those that need different flexibility, it's easy enough to do with apps like OwnCloud, DropBox, etc.
Just my $.02 worth, anyway.
