Upgrading your NAS
If you are upgrading to a new NAS model, please f
ollow the migration instructions outlined below.
STEP 1
Power off your NAS

Transfer your old hard disks over to the new NAS and power it on.

I followed these instructions but found that to actually recover my raid ( I migrated from a 2 disk NAS to a 4 ) I had to run the initial wizard which claims its downloading the firmware, partitions and formats the drives then reboots.

I had given up on recovering my previous RAID and planned on starting over (I had full backups) so I went through with it. To my surprise, after it claimed it initialized the drives and rebooted I was back at my previous login screen. Thought I would post for anyone who may encounter this in the future.
