An editor less vile than vi?

Post by fluffnik »

One of the first things I did when starting with Unix was to learn emacs, that's how little I like vi...

Emacs would be overkill, and not massively more friendly, but GNU nano is lightweight and easy to use.

You need apt and associated package repositories to run apt-get...

My next move should probably be to build an apkg which I can manually install, and offer to the community, but first I need to acquire the appropriate tool chain.

...I might try just copying a nano binary to my $PATH and seeing if it works!
