A Papy 202TE owner ^^

Post by Kerrozen »

Hello !

Firstly, I'm sorry in advance for my english : even if I've to work in english, mine is not very fluent and maybe some of my words will look like coming from an old strange world

My new NAS in for private use only : we'll be 3 adults to read/write on it, and probably to watch some streaming when we all be familiar with it !

I decided to push all my documents (videos, songs, private docs, game saves etc...) on a NAS because since I started to use a PC I've forgotten how many times I lost all of my PC with bullsh.... that needed to format / change a hard drive or others. So now I hope that will be solved.
It's sure that this kind of solution can be a little bit to much for house uses, but I have some professionnal docs, and particularly some sensitive ones, that I don't want to save on external supports (cloud or doc hosting or...).

For now I'm using 2 Seagate NAS ST4000VN 4 TO (I got them to the price of the Barracuda so.... why not ? ) in a RAID 1 mode.

As I'm a big beginner with network devices, I'll probably ask questions for dummies, and probably that the "Search Button" will become at the same time my best and worst friend

See ya

I am also new to the NAS. I just brought 202TE yesterday. If I want to move file from my computer hardisk to the NAS HD, what is the convenience way to do it. I did it via browser, drag and drop, any other apps to do it. ?

Thx.
