I currently run a Synology NAS with a separate Nettop PC running XBMC.
As I am looking to upgrade the NAS it would be good to combine these two functions.
Is it possible to use a usb IR dongle with the 602T as I do for my Nettop PC?
I want the extra horsepower of the 602 over the 302 but am unsure about whether I could control the XBMC app with my Harmony remote?
Also is the HD video decoding done through the Atom processor or some kind of GPU?
Thanks
Gary

Re: IR Receiver for 602T?
Hi Gary,
If you would like to control the 602 with a remote, then we would recommend that you use ASUSTOR's IR receiver and remote. Also, video decoding is done through the Atom processor.
The IR receiver is available here:
http://shop.asustor.com/index.php?route ... duct_id=58
and the remote here:
http://shop.asustor.com/index.php?route ... duct_id=50
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Allen

Re: IR Receiver for 602T?
Just a quick follow up.
I assume that re video decoding the 302 does make use of a hardware decoder so less load on the CPU's when watching video?
Edit.......
I should clarify that I would make extensive use of the XBMC app so this feature is very important to me. However I would also run various other apps to manage downloads as well as serve websites and photo galleries.
Just trying to decide which product is more suitable.

Did a bit more research and went for the 302 in the end.
Replacing my DS111 so will be interesting to compare.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for supporting ASUSTOR!
Yes the 3 series devices make use of hardware decoders. Also, I would like to clarify that the 6 series does so too as well. So decoding on the 6 series is not done through the Atom processor as I originally posted. I apologize for the mistake. I hope you enjoy your 302!
Thanks,
Allen
