Problem:
I have an AS-608T with no means of using a remote control with Boxee or XBMC. XBMC allows the use of your TV's remote to control XBMC functions over the HDMI connection using a feature called CEC (Consumer Electronics Control over HDMI).

Questions:
1. Does the AS-608T support CEC over HDMI?
2. If not, can CEC over HDMI be added to the firmware?
CEC with XBMC Media Center software http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=CEC
CEC allows XBMC to turn your TV, receivers, and other attached equipment on and off (if they support HDMI CEC) adjust the volume or eject the disk from a drive. Start playback, etc. and much more.
Likewise these same devices can tell XBMC what to do, for example, your TV remote can also control XBMC, or vice versa. With this device you can move that step closer to a clutter free living space while maintaining simple remote control for friends and family who may not be familiar with all of the features of a professional remote control.
See CEC in action and read about what it can do with XBMC:

If they add this function, nobody will buy their remote control.

ok, but when xbmc is configured in energy saving mode "close or suspend after 15 minutes of inactivity", how do I restart it without Asustor remote control?

Re: CEC over HDMI with XBMC Media Center software
XBMC has built-in support for the Microsoft Media Center MCE remotes, but there's still the problem of the IR sensor with AS-6xx.
Will the USB IR sensors that come with MCE remotes work at all with the AS-6xx series?
