Hi there,

Yes the firewall supports both blacklist and whitelist mode.
To use with whitelist mode, please go to Settings/ ADM Defender/ Firewall and select "Deny all connections"
And then add the whitelist by using the Policeis table below.
Let me know if you run into any trouble, okay ;)

Hi,

Thanks for your post, it's not a whit list with the firewall, it's a whit list whit the blocker (Network Defender), I can add "Bad IP" but if I want to be sure that my local lan was not blocked by misconfiguration or bad password I can't configure that.

I talk about something like denyhost or fail2ban.

The network defender don't use iptables for blocking IP.
If you have some other configuration tip's let me know.

Hi,
Well, we offer Nework Defender which bans IPs that show the malicious signs (too many password failures).
I guess this may fit your need, how do you think?

Hello,

Yes it's the same, what I said is only to add like other tools a whit list, then even if you have a problem with an account (everyone could do password error in an application) you have your local network none blacklist for hours/days/always :)

I thinks it's a good idea to have it, don't you ?

A whitelist is definitely needed for Network Defender. I suddenly lost access to all of my SAMBA shares today (I use the NAS in a home office environment, so this was a critical outage), went to check Network Defender, and found my IP had been added to the black list for an unknown reason.

I removed my IP from the black list, but wasn't able to access the shares on the NAS again until I also cleared my SAMBA session under System Information --> Online User, FYI.

It would be nice to be able to add 192.168.1.x to a whitelist to prevent this from happening again.

I do hope this concern is taken seriously, but I would also like to add that aside from this quirk today, I am LOVING my 604T!

Thank you all for the feedback of Network Defender.
We will study this "rule-based firewalls" function and see how to put it into ADM.
Cheers,

I cannot map a network drive to my NAS without Defender blocking my IP every 5 minutes!!
I've also been locked out by it when using Plex

Seriously need a whitelist option for ADM Defender!!!
