Streaming to Samsung TV

Post by PepinoNick »

Hi all,
I have Samsung TV UE55D6530, router WD MyNetN750 (with WD MyBook HD connected through USB) and I was looking for some elegant solution how to share and stream media at home.
I have both a NAS AS-602T expecting to get easy and smooth solution for streaming to my TV. (I know there is a possibility to use HDMI but it doesn't comply to my IT and amusement center layout at home.)
The problem is that when I choose AS-602T as streaming server, I can navigate through Video / Music / Photo folders, I can see the files, but whenever I try to play the MP3 audio file, run selected movie or show the photo, I always get an error message: "Not supported format". It makes no difference which type of movie or photo file I choose. It's always the same result.
The only difference is when I choose photos and navigate to some folder, then the photos are shown in preview, however when I pick one for show, then the same error message appears.

I have updated UPnP Media Server to the latest version (with Samsung correction announced) without any positive result. The NAS is the only device which causes problems with steaming. I can stream to my TV from my PCs, from Router, from smartphones, so the infrastructure settings seems to be correct.

Could you have some advice how to setup the NAS and TV or what to try to make it work?

Thanks,
Petr

I have just try to install Media Server 2 (and disabled MS 1 installation) but the scan doesn't show any media files found and the server itself doesn't appear as a stream device.
Do I need for this app to upgrade on ADM V 2.0 (my current ADM version is 1.0.9.R661)?

no ADM 2.0, but maybe you've forgotten to install JRE first?

Plex under ADB 1.x should work for this, as per this post on the Plex forums: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/top ... app/page-3
