greater security in raid reconstruction

Post by odj64 »

I faced a serious problem, largely my fault, but Asustor really helped me by omitting security checks:
A couple of months ago I decided to replace the disks in my RAID 5 (from 7 to 20TB each): I copied the data to external HDDs and created a new volume (I hadn't calculated it would take 4 days just to create an empty RAID, but that's what happened).
Unfortunately, a new ADM update had also been released, and EVERY TIME I accessed the NAS, it suggested the update.
I had to put the data back into the RAID to work, so after 3 disks, I copied the data. I was so happy that I inserted the 4th disk for expansion, and in a moment of distraction, I confirmed the OS update... and I lost everything!!!

But is it so complicated to set up a check that if maintenance is being done on the RAID, a warning alert appears????
A single click of distraction ruined ALL my data... damn...
