before new server

after new server and a bit of tidying
(the 209) is off site now and used as a backup target for now, soon to be swapped out in that role with the 509

still waiting for 4 x 3tb drives to let the 608 breath

i had one qnap 459 before, but the fan becomes very noisy and for some reasons I no longer can upgrade the firmware (my last one is 3.6.x). tried work with qnap ppl to solve this, but they just told me they can't find the root cause, the only solution is to rebuild my system and start from scratch...so i decided to let this crap r.i.p. and got my new as-604. everything works fine so far, just there are some features i would like to see on asustor, like a builtin music player in ADM desktop would be great, as well as the new mobile apps i read on the internet a few weeks ago
@ho66es, is that your home server room?
what's it next to the keyboard?

indeed, although technically its just my loft/attic/roofspace and is accessed by a pull down laddermeteora wrote: @ho66es, is that your home server room?what's it next to the keyboard?
what you refer to is I believe the base station part of my weather station, runs on the qnap currently via usb and pywws software. http://www.ho66es.org/weather/index.php
i would hope to migrate this to the asustor too

very close, its a 7100, runs a simple xen box on slackware that does routing and a few other bits that won't run on nas.bruceleeon wrote: Is that an HP DC7600?
