First post so please be gentle!
I have had a ASUSTOR AS1102T with 2 x 4Tb matched HDDs in it for many years which I used as a NAS drive for videos and music, the latter being played via SONOS 1 speakers.
After years of reliable service, last December one of the HDDs started to throw up errors so I bought a replacement pair, and reinstalled the files. SONOS 1 will now not recognise the NAS drive and will not allow me to access the music files. Thinking that maybe the NAS enclosure might be at fault (partly because both the HDDs have now tested perfectly OK) I bought a new ASUSTOR type AS3304T enclosure and put 4 x 4Tb HDDs in it and guess what? - exactly the same problem - which is a denial of access saying the username and password is incorrect and suggesting a modification of registry settings which has been done. The PC is running W11 and can access the NAS without error but SONOS cannot "see" the drive or the contents and therefore cannot add the folder containing my music. The Asustor s/ware ADM(?) will allow me to to change settings but after several hours with on line support and remote access from SONOS they cannot find the fault. So far we have changed registry settings as above, messed with passwords and usernames, reset SMB and TLS values and still end up with the same message which says that it is unable to add the music folder and giving me the same error message as above. It should be simple, but nothing seems to work. I used the ADM on the PC to set up the music file. SONOS tried creating new Windows user profiles with new passwords and permissions but no good. Any ideas anyone?

Re: Asustor and SONOS 1
Update in case anyone is interested - by the deafening silence I guess this is as boring as they come!
Anyway - a small advancement in that I can now 'see' the folders but still cannot map them into the SONOS app.
Things I have learnt about:
SONOS app does not store and setup data on the app; it is all stored in the speakers' memories. Weird
SONOS does not use the latest SMB and security values.
SONOS and Google Mesh LAN do not work happily together.
SONOS does not use any of the recognised sign in detail for their music storage files - not the Windows ID, not the networking password either.
SONOS has a second layer of tech support which I will try tomorrow given half a chance.
Anyone else out here in the wilderness with a similar problem - I guess not unless you have all given up in despair!
