Hello everyone. I am introducing myself as I have just purchased my first Asustor NAS (not my first NAS), specifically the Asustor Drivestor 2 Pro Gen2 AS3302T v2, equipped with 2 WD Red NAS Pro 16TB drives configured in RAID1. I have a “problem” that I hope you can help me solve, as I said I have just bought the NAS and I am still “testing” it and even with the possibility of returning it and choosing another option. When configuring the Standby mode (Hibernation), I see that the NAS never enters said standby mode, and when I go to configuration / Hardware / Power Control / Disk Hibernation, and run the diagnostic tool, I always see some processes that are running in the background and I understand that they are the ones that prevent it from entering hibernation mode even when I am not using them. Below I copy and paste the processes that appear running, as a result of the diagnostic report:

The thing is that it is not possible (or at least I have not been able to) manually close these processes, nor do I know how to cancel them or what causes this to happen. For more information, I do not have any application installed on the NAS apart from Plex.
I would like if you could help me solve this, since it is important for me that the NAS is in hibernation when it is not used (which will be most of the time since it houses data of non-frequent use), since it is going to be placed in the living room, mainly to avoid noise. I look forward to your help and thank you very much in advance.

Re: ASUSTOR AS3302T v2 hibernation problem
Hi,
mdadm ... is the Raid builder/manager
... so when you start your Raid1 (init) quickly you can work on it ... but in parallel mdadm contuse to build the Raid ...
... when the Raid is totally build and for 2 x 16 To it's long ... at end the task stop as usual.
try looking to cat /proc/mdstat (in root terminal) to see the actual status (perhaps also in Storage Manager I don't remember if the info id displayed)
take attention if you load lot of file in the NAS before Raid1 is complete ... you increase the elapse time need.
Philippe.

Re: ASUSTOR AS3302T v2 hibernation problem
Thanks for your reply. I bought the NAS more than a week ago. In disk management it appeared to be synchronizing at the beginning and it took about 3 days, but it finished several days ago, and the log I showed is from today, so that process continues to appear. I don't know if this is what you were referring to.

Re: ASUSTOR AS3302T v2 hibernation problem
If you click on Volume in Storage Manager, does it show the volume is Good or Synchronising?
Plex will stop the drives from hibernating so that's almost certainly the problem.

Re: ASUSTOR AS3302T v2 hibernation problem
Just for information. I returned the NAS and bought a Synology. The difference is huge, less noise, it turns off in standby mode with Plex running. Synology is another level, far away from Asustor. Thanks!

Are you comparing the smallest NAS from Asus with a Synology NAS? Have fun with Synology's puny hardware.
