Hi everyone
Hi everyone, I'm considering upgrading my NAS setup with an Asustor device and I’m curious about the performance differences between the AS5304T and the AS6704T models. Could someone provide insights into how these two models compare in terms of processing power, storage capabilities, and overall user experience? Thanks in advance!

Re: Hi everyone
They're identical In terms of HDD capacity but the AS6704 can also take four M.2 SSDs.
The AS5304T's CPU has a passmark of about 3000; the AS6704T gives 4100. The AS6704T can take twice as much RAM as the AS5304T (and both will take twice as much as officially stated) .
The user experience is really dictated by ADM which is the same for both but the AS6704 is a bit quicker getting there. I have an AS5304T and an AS6706T. If you're intending to load your NAS with VMs then the AS6704T is the better choice.
However, if you don't need the AS6704T's front panel display and the option of a 10GbE card then a better choice than either would be the AS5404T which is effectively an AS6704T in the AS5304T case
