Moving away from desktops and laptops in favor of tablets, like the iPad. UNFORTUNATELY, AiMaster app does NOT provide the same level of control over my Flashstor 6. I’m not alone. Forcing me to acquire and maintain a desktop or laptop to manage my NAS changes the value proposition.
Please expand AiMaster, or some other app, to have a complete set of NAS (ADM) controls.

Re: Tablet Control of NAS
Disappointing response from Asustor on this request. First, they confirmed the current limitations of AiMaster app, so I’m not missing something or misusing the app. Second, they suggested I use the ADM controls available over the web using either Safari or Chrome (as appropriate, I guess). In effect, control the NAS settings, across the Internet, from servers operated by Asustor in the mothership.
Hmmm.
Start with the premise that everything Asustor from their servers, the internet links between them and me, my ISP, my network, and the Asustor product set on my clients and the Flashstor 6 is ROCK SOLID today—impregnable. You gotta know that over the arc of time, Asustor will distribute fixes in the appropriate form/delivery to fix/resolve a drop dead security risk using this approach. Be realistic, if I’m seeking to minimize, remove elements of risk: [1] I’m not running my NAS from a long distance point of control—just on general principles. [2] Both the AiMaster and AiData apps are well done, do a lot but not everything required as points of control, just not fully baked in today. [3] Furthermore, if there’s a core set of functions in a dedicated portion of my network that is airgapped from everything else, then the use of Asustor NAS products will always require a (partially?) dedicated desktop.
More and more of our video content work is not only tablet based, but there are tablets with adequate “horse power,” and courtesy of the Asustor NAS, plenty of timely accessible storage on an airgapped multi-gigabit backbone. Plus companies like Apple and Black Magic Design are moving their products to tablets, like the iPad Pro and maybe even the iPad Air. No, I’m not doing Hollywood, theatrical work and yet there is a lot of less demanding work to be done in content creation where Academy Awards and Emmys are not at risk.
And before anyone gets on their high horse about the inadequacies of iPadOS, I’m finding the 18 beta with Stage Manager equal to the task with workflows I can devise/revise to work with this hardware/software stack.
