Advice sought: New AS3302Tv2 User transferring from Western Digital NAS

Hi all,

I am an IT professional (touched first computer in 1970, and kept up to date very since). Now retired but cannot stop being interested in technology.
I am based in the UK in Malvern, where they build the Morgan sports cars (no, I don't have one).

I have been using a Western Digital MyCloudMirror for about 10+ years. For many reasons to do with their support, I did not wish to replace that with another WD product, so bought the ASUSTor device.

What I am seeking advice on is the software options available and what recommendations people have between the native ASUSTor apps and 3rd party Apps (that I currently use on the WD MyCloud).

I use Goodsync to Sync my files between my PC and the WD device. I am trying the EZ Sync application on the ASUS device. Any opinions on the choices here?

I use PlexServer on the WD device, and installed it on the ASUS device but have yet to use it until I have all my files synced.

I note that Plex itself says the ASUSTor Plex App needs updating, but do not see how I can do that outside of the ASUS App store environment. I have the .apk file but have not yet discovered how I can use this to update the app on the ASUSTor NAS.

Hi,
Don't hesitate to follow the Asustor college (on web site) to get information.

APK can be installed using AppCentral / manage / manual install
... a command line tools can also be used for confirmed users (apkg)

For my own, I use Syncthing from long time (for some available functions like master / slave mode, just in time sync, etc.)
... but each have preferred tools ...

Asustor have multiple type of applications :
... Asustor original
... 3rd App. from professional company
... 3rd App. from integrator (users)

In all case exist some App. with the APKG format available without the validation phase from Asustor, generally from forum user with specific pots on forum.

So ask for application (after doing a search in AppCentral and in forum) if exist somebody can help you ...
take attention that some App. are "just" docker port, some other (same software) are native.
