Asustor Lockerstor 4 Gen3 (AS6804T)???

Post by Gerard »

I heard (I don't know to what extent it is true, of course) that the Asustor Lockerstor 4 Gen3 (AS6804T) would soon be released. What would you do now to purchase the Asustor Lockerstor 4 Gen2 (AS6704T) or wait until the Asustor Lockerstor 4 Gen3 (AS6804T) is available?

I received an email from Asustor announcing the Gen 3's imminent release. I was thinking about replacing my AS5304T with an AS5404T or possibly an AS6704T but now I'm definitely waiting for the AS6804T. The built-in 10GbE and 5GbE is the game changer for me.

One of the new features is a switch to AMD CPUs instead of Intel. The downside of this that we will lose the HDMI port as the embedded AMD CPUs don't have an IGPU.

Also, ADM will go up to 5.0 so we'll see what that brings.

That's a tough one for me …
Nice upgrade to 10GbE and 5GbE! Personally, I am not a great fan of AMD processors … No information about the specific publication date … No information about the expected sales price … When the Gen3 comes out, the price of the Gen2 may drop… So I'm not quite sure yet …
