Facing problem backup to external HDD

Post by riaj uddin »

Hi,
I want to schedule a backup to a external HDD which is connected with USB. When I go to backup and restore app > external backup, it does not showing my HDD.

Anyone can describe this and how can I backup nas to a external HDD?

Does it show the external USB HDD in the External Devices > Hard Drives? How about in the Storage Manager > Drive?
AS5304T - 16GB DDR4 - ADM-OS modded on 2GB RAM
Internal:
- 4x10TB Toshiba RAID10 Ext4-Journal=Off
External 5 Bay USB3:
- 4x2TB Seagate modded RAID0 Btrfs-Compression
- 480GB Intel SSD for modded dm-cache (initramfs auto update patch) and Apps

Yes. It's showing in External Devices > Hard Drives. But not showing in External backup.
As I connect the HDD with USB so I think it won't show in Storage Manager > Drive

IIRC there was a report previously on older firmware that external drives showing in the Storage Manager. No updates from the user so not sure what's the conclusion.

Just checked, no issue here with the latest firmware updated today.

1x flash drive, 1x SSD (used as cache hence not shown), 4x HDD. If you don't see this, you should open a ticket with Asustor Support.
