Hi,
I've been accessing data with the web browser or samba, and I can't do so anymore due to unknown reasons I'm still resolving..
Is it possible to access the data directly by connecting the NAS to my laptop with an ethernet cable?
Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to directly access data without ADM?

The question is, can you still access ADM web portal? If yes, then set both the NAS and laptop network adapter to static IP, then connect them using the cable. Google how to do this. Note that you'll need to reset them back using DHCP to connect back to the router else you'll have to use the rear reset button to clear the network settings, refer here https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1044535/.

If you're expecting the NAS to appear as disks directly connect to your laptop then, no, this won't work. Connecting an ethernet cable directly between the two devices is logically identical to having them connected through your router. You need to sort out why you're having problems with Samba to make progress.
