Newbie needs help - Drivestor 4 AS1104T useless to me since Jan

Hello and I would greatly appreciate help. I purchased a Drivestor 4 in Jan hoping to use it for my family for simple things like system backups and photo backups. However, to date I have not been abe to get it to do anything useful for me. I spent several weeks in the support ticket realm helping Asustor debug the photo backup apps. Now I cannot get the system to respond to me in the most basic ways. The hardware lights are all green, but my login attempts either fail or when I can get in, the screen-to-screen time is measured in multple minutes, usually ending in failure eventually. None of the support threads even deals with the Drivestor line specifically nor are there any easily found support topics on these fundamental issues.

I should add I am a MAC and iPhone user as are my family members. Perhaps I have bought the wrong brand. I am using Ironwolfe drives. Currently I have two 6TB drives installed.

I just dont get this thing and I have spent 40 years in IT and telecomm/networking. I have been a devleoper (long ago), and I'm not a day-to-day techie geek, but I do know a fair amount about these sorts of things as a power user so to speak. I am very frustrated and suspect that Asustor has not been exactly straight in advertising how easy their NAS is to use and manage, especially with Apple clients.

I would welcome any assistance/advice you can offer aand hope to have my impressions dispelled by learning what mistakes I am making.

We in this community forum will of course first of all not aware of your communications with Asustor Support. Perhaps there's miscommunications or some details left out.

So describing to us in details of the issues you're having and the steps that you've taken to fix it together with some logs or screenshots might be a good start. List them in point forms so it would be easier to better understand each situation.

Operating the Drivestor 4 from a PC/Mac/Linux is no different from any of the Asustor's NAS albeit slight variations in its architecture and capabilities.

The details of what I have tried are pretty straightforward.

1. I can see the NAS in the Control Center. It has a status of offline and the "Wake" button is available. I select "Wake" and nothing happens.
2. I try to login locally by selecting the IP address. The spinning icon in the tab starts and spins for several minutes. Then I get part of the ADM screen.
Then about 45 sec later I get the full screen.
3. I select settings and nothing happens. There is no change to the icon to indicate I have selected it. Then the settings window comes up. I select ez-connect to see if the settings will allow me to connect remotely. I get a partail window and an error message
4. Then I select network and get an error message saying the connection is lost.

This is all I am able to do. There are some variations but they all end with the message that the connection is lost and the system is retrying.

I have attempted to attach the 5 screenshots associated with my description able. They are combined into a single file. Hopefully you can see enough to understand my narrative better.

Suggestions and advice is most welcome.

Do tell us about your network setup, the links, devices i.e. router and switch etc. How's the clients are connected? Wi-Fi?

Have you any success trying with the web browser instead? Open up the ADM portal using the IP and port. TBH I don't really use the Control Center App from day one back in 2019.
