Hello Everyone,
I have 3304T and am currently using my system as a file server and backup system. I am having issues locally gaining access to the server on a new computer due to a (preloaded-windows 11) pin number popup. Its as though it blocks me, I am unable to get through it so that I can type in the username and password to gain access to my NAS. Its fairly odd, my desktop which I built, I had absolutely no issues with and it worked great as a mapped drive. My new Dell XPS (which is for remote work) is not able to access the NAS on the same local network. I can see it, it shows up, however if I choose to connect to it, I am unable to get through the authentication window as "bleeping" MS in their infinite wisdom decided to stick me with pin authentication which is not the same as the credentials required for access to the NAS. If you one of you could point me in the right direction, I would certainly appreciate the help. Ive turned off the credential manager and disabled it, that did not seem to have much impact other than it forced back down the same path (pin#) to authenticate that its still me attempting to gain access. I am unable to turn the pin# verification off, I looked up how to disable the pin# verification, I do not show it as an option when I look. I added a password, facial recognition, and am still stuck having to provide the pin# which is not affiliated with the NAS in any way. I would greatly appreciate more wisdom than I seem to have..
Thanks,
OneEye

Re: Windows 11 and 3304T
In Windows, search for Credential Manager. Open it and click on the Windows Credentials then click add a Windows credential:
Anyway about disabling your pin, there two ways:
- Internet or network address: NAS-Local-IP-or-Host
- User name: NAS-User-Name
- Password: NAS-User-Password
Anyway about disabling your pin, there two ways:
- 1. In the account settings sign-in options, under ways to sign in, expand PIN (Windows Hello), choose "I forgot my PIN". Follow the instructions until the end but click cancel when it's asking for the new PIN. Just close it.
- 2. In the account settings sign-in options, under additional settings, turn off Windows Hello sign-in, go back or reopen this section, then you can now remove the pin as it's no longer greyed out.

Re: Windows 11 and 3304T
I added the credentials into the credential manager. Once I go back to access the NAS from File Explorer, the dreaded popup shows up telling me "Enter network credentials" to connect to asustor, (in red ,,,, a specified logon session does not exist. it may already have been terminated.) it has the correct username but the password section requires me to add it. When I fill in the information, I can select to more choices, which would allow me to use a different account but I am still stuck as the same place. when I select OK (after entering the required information) it pauses just second or two then pops back up with the Enter Network Credentials mess.

Re: Windows 11 and 3304T
On another note, if attempt to map the drive, and use ie.. \\Asustor it tells me that Windows cannot access \\Asustor. Though I can got to CMD and ping the NAs with no issues. if I go the other route and attempt to map it by IP, it behaves exactly the same. No other laptop, tablet, or PC acts like this on the network. Only this new XPS. From a functionality standpoint being preloaded from Dell, its as though parameters have been set to a Dell default value which is making things stupidly difficult.

Re: Windows 11 and 3304T
Try using \\NAS-hostname then using admin privilege, add the NAS IP and hostname to the Windows host file, C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.

Re: Windows 11 and 3304T
Thanks for all of the input. I finally managed to lock myself completely out of the XPS. I then re-imaged the tablet, went through WIN11 setup again, and set up a LOCAL only account which was not tied to MS crap. Connected to the network, mapped to the asustor and everything worked like a champ.
Problem solved. I am beginning to hate MS.
Thanks,
