New to NAS but 47 years computer experience

Greetings from Central Texas!
I am a 65 yr old Software Engineer (now working as a DBA for several hospitals) and just now getting my feet wet in the NAS world with my new Asustor AS6604AT (4 x IronWolf 4TB).
It has been a pretty easy setup so far and the Plex server is running like a top. I am currently trying to set up the security camera software (ONVIF cameras) and working my way through the Asustor courses.

I run Linux Mint on my homebrew (liquid cooled Mini-ITX) desktop and the 13 or so Raspberry Pi computers that I have laying around. I use Microsoft SQL server and other data warehouse products at work.
Looking forward to learning more about the capabilities of my NAS box and talking with y'all on the forums.
