Just purchased a Asustor NAS and two iron wolf 2T drives as the reviews are good, had a WD my cloud home ( sorry for swearing) what a load of crap I had nothing but trouble with it now it’s dead and lost everything so I hope this one is better, I haven’t received it yet .

Do you plan to use the 2 discs as raid 1 or as a single?

In any case, I advise you to buy an external backup unit (an USB hard drive) to make cold backups.

NB2. Raid is NOT a backup ... just a big help in some cases (disk failure)

You said if I had any other questions I think I understand what Raid is mor or less but I was going to have an external drive plugged into USB port as backup is that possible if so how.
