Amazon S3 backup does not preserve file dates

I have set up Amazon S3 backup and it seems to be working fine (my files show up in the S3 Management Console).

Unfortunately the file dates of the files are the date the file was last uploaded, not the original modified date stored on the NAS.

Preserving file dates is an essential part of backup. Metadata should not be neglected.

This seems to be the issue with Amazon S3?
I have also Synology and QNAP NAS, as I remember, both of them got the same problem.
