Hi
My name is Graham and I live near Oxford in the UK.
Just got myself an AS-604T, 1GB ram with two WD red 3TB drives set to RAID 1 format.
I know little about networking and guess I will be on here quite a lot asking questions, so thanks in advance.
If I can, I wish to use my NAS as a back computer for when my main machine is offline and sick, if that is possible?
I also want to be able to connect to my NAS securley from other computers not on my home network but dont know how to set it up?
I have already managed to back up my important files to my NAS but cant seem to find my way around the OS very well, I have downloaded the Google app so I can browse the web but cant even find it to be able to launch it.
Any help wound be much appresiated
regards
Graham

Re: Hello, I am new to this site.
Welcome.

If you need to connect to nas through internet, you'll have to setup cloud function correctly first (ADM web page -> Settings -> Easy of Access). This setup procedure depends on your router / gateway capability. You can post questions here if you encounter problems. Or you can visit asustor's web college to get more information (I used to be there
). After that, you should have a cloud ID (a global internet host name).
Then, you can enable secured WebDav service (ADM web page -> Services -> WebDAV). And you also need to setup a private certificate in your outside computers (to make sure it's secured). You can refer to the following forum topic.

Hope it helps.
