AS-204TE RAID 5 total capacity problem

I have installed four 3T hard disks and build raid 5. However, after the building process, the total capacity is only 2.98T. Why?

You may upgrading RAID level to 5. You can simply press "Expand Capacity" to expand to the real size.

Thanks. How long it need to take? I have already placed many files on it, do I need to remove the files first?

I don't actually know. But it should be fast enough because it's only file system extension. Nothing related to RAID operation. However, I think expansion should proceed automatically after RAID synchronization completed, rather than doing the action manually.

Hi,

The process is very slow. It takes more then 2 hours to expand 1T. I think it is a bug for the expand process cannot start automatically. But anyway, thanks for your reply.
