More Remote Buttons to map please

XBMC has a LOT of remote control functionality - please please provide some customisable buttons that we could program on our universal remotes (I use a logitech harmony) (or smarter still have the NAS "Learn" IR commands to map from an old remote for some other device)

it would be cool to be able to shortcut to some of the other XBMC functionality with extra buttons (without you needing to redesign the official remote) - an alternative would be to natively support an MCE remote with the internal reciever

Can any of you guys that port apps to the asustor do anything with LIRC? http://www.lirc.org/
Maybe an app that learns our remote buttons when we point at it and then they can be stored and mapped to commands in XBMC.

I am going to try with a FLIRC device for this same purpose. Will post back again how it goes.

Ok guys, received my FLIRC dongle today. I am happy to report that it works with any remote that I have thrown. I'am a happy camper.
