My name is David, and I am new to Asustor.

I have had computers since the Radio Shack models but didn't start to use NAS units until a few years ago (I don't remember exactly when).

The first (and only NAS I have had until now) is a Buffalo LinkStation. Unfortunately, that unit recently broke and I purchased an Asustor AS5402T. I have it setup with two 1TB SSD in a RAID 1 configuration.

Although I have used computers for some time, I will need help with setting up my new NAS and is the main reason for registering for this forum. I will ask my questions on specific topics on the appropriate boards later.

That's all for now.

Unfortunately, the forum is also home to several pointless bots posting useless messages.......
David, just out of interest, which SSDs have you used in your AS5402T. Are you planning to add HDDs as well?

I am using two Crucial 1 TB SSD in my NAS.

I'm not planning on adding any HDDs at this time. I want to get comfortable with the basic functions of this NAS before adding extra hardware or software.

Thanks for your welcome.
