AC/DC Adaptor Issue?

Post by jackcunha »

My Model AS5104T was moved to another location, then returned to me, but I cannot get it to turn on. I'm wondering if the power cord/AC-DC Adapter was inadvertently switched. The one I have is made by Delta Electronics, Model DPS-90FBA, Output 12V/7.5A, max power 90W at 25 degrees C. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

If is it, can anyone tell me what to check. For instance, is there an internal fuse, or something other to check to determine why it does not turn on, nor even light up?

12V/7.5A seems correct not sure though if it's the same model for all region, you should open a ticket with Asustor to check.

Don't think there's a serviceable internal fuse but you can check the voltage using a multimeter.

It would help to know what country you're in so we know something about the power cord like whether it has a fused plug. The actual adapter is very likely to be the same whatever country you're in.
I agree with Nazar that your next step should be to measure the output voltage of the adapter.

The first thing for you to check is the fuse in the plug.

How is the fuse in the plug accessed? There is a 5.75"x1.50"x1.50" cube as part of the plug, but there are no screws to open it.

That was UK-specific advice as our mains plugs are always fused. I doubt there's a user-accessible fuse within the actual adapter.
