Install Linux apps like TrueCrypt

ASUSTOR ADM, is based on Linux. It would be very interesting an application that allows install compatible applications for Ubuntu, Debian or any other Linux distribution.
This would allow to greatly expand the number of available applications and their compatibility with most of desktop computers or laptops
For example TrueCrypt (compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac) that allows encrypt, read and modify files, folders, partitions, and entire disks.
It uses several encryption algorithms including AES-256, military security level. (Also used by Asustor in encrypted folders)
You can create, read and modify encrypted files, folders or volumes with Windows, Linux or Mac and be read and modified by Linux, Mac or Windows interchangeably.

Short answer: NO !

Long answer: At this moment you can't install application from RPM, DEB ..., you must build (compile) and make for this ADM 2.0.

I don't know why asustor chose this variant to make a "close" system like other. In my opinion it would be much more interested in being different from other companies like qnap, synology....but asustor chose to be almost the same as other.

You completely miss the point. They did not choose to ignore these package systems... Rather these other packages require a specific file system...

Because NAS's have there OS on embedded flash, all files and libs for external packages must be linked to specific locations as part of the installation package. Hence they are all different.
