Familiar with QNAP and new to Asustor

Post by Phrehdd »

Hello all -

I pulled the trigger as it were and got the 6 bay flashstor NAS.

Having many years with QNAP, this was quite a change and I was surprised to see that ADM was not quite as robust as QNAP's OS interface and module/apps.

If someone could answer a couple of questions it would very much appreciated.

In QNAP's version of file explorer there are tick boxes by the directories and files. In turn, one could 'tick' multiple files and such for copy/move and items like delete. It seems the ADM counterpart does not have this ability or am I not using it correctly?

Also, though I hope that Asustor is akin to other makes - I populated the NAS with 4 drives for RAID 5. Does ADM allow adding additional drives without losing data? I would like to add an additional drive to the RAID 5 set up. My NAS has a few terabytes of data.

Thanks much in advance and look forward to learning more about Asustor NAS capabilities.
