Right. thank you for the response, but that of course doesn't mean you will actually add such a feature which seems pretty basic to me. I was able to get BBtorrentsync to work consistently last night, and the problem really was with the user's guide, which simply doesn't make it clear what the order is in setting up a sync. if you do it wrong, as I did, it won't work. Maybe most people will understand the manual but I think a lot of people who are like me with a decent level of computer experience but are setting up a NAS for the first time will really struggle with it. All it would have taken was clearly written explanations and directions.

Unfortunately the user guide for btsync is not an Asustor document, so I don't think there is much any of us can do about this.

You can try contacting the btsync team and ask them to update this document, or you can write a bit of a config guide and post it on the btsync sub-forum here on the Asustor forum.

I did write to them and explained what I thought the problem was with the manual. Let's see if they respond. Fact is, once I got it to work, it works beautifully, but it cost me a whole Sunday when it could have been set up in ten minutes.

Yeah, I understand your frustration. I often spend a day stuffing around with something to Cinda solution that ultimately only takes a few minutes.
I just try to focus on what I learned through that process
