Re: Aplication like synology or qnap
Hi buhuhu,
Thank you for pushing AS-604T, we hope you enjoy this unit.
The photo application is ongoing now and should be released by is couple month.
The video application is under planning, I will keep you posted once the schedule is confirmed.
By the way, would you please share with us what is you favorite application on the NAS so far?
Cheers,

Re: Aplication like synology or qnap
Dear James and AST team,
I'm currently happy Synology user (DS210j unit), considering purchase of new box. I started from Synology as I own one already. Then I found Asustor which beats Synology with HDMI/XBMC and DropBox client. But ... Mobile app seems to be missed on Asustor, at least after first and second look at your products.
Apps which I run on NAS: CIFS/NFS, file sharing via Web, BT client, ftp, rsync. Last time Plex to my TV (no transcoding). All of them are available in Asustor AFAIK.
My list of mobile applications:
1. PhotoStation / DS Photo
I'm using PhotoStation (DS Photo) on iPad and Android smartphone. All my photos go to DropBox during my events/trips (via network from mobile, via notepad from memory cards) and then I organize it at hope and put organized into NAS. The main reason was a capacity of NAS.
I can imagine photos could be accessed by web browser (a la PhotoStation) in light/mobile layout or dedicated app. Both options are OK, https is a MUST HAVE.
2. AudioStation / DS Audio
I was using it during my trips, ex. music or audiobook for children. Music could be killed by Spotify/Deezer/... in the future.
3. DS File - AiData is already there
4. BT manager - AiDownload is already there
5. Video Station
My current NAS is not able to transcode anything. Some android devices are able to decode files w/out transcoding but for my home iPads I wish I have a tool for watching childrens movies on tablets.
Video could be accessed from browser or dedicated mobile app.
I would be happy to see estimated dates your apps will be available. 302T technically looks fine, its the first NAS with new Atom dedicated for home users, HDMI is there. Only mobile apps and large install base and community is missing.
Kind dregards

+1
For the musicapps as on Qnap or Synology. I really miss them, Subsonic works for 30 days, it's not enough.
