I've only had this 302T since yesterday morning. I returned a Netgear readyNAS. I wanted to get a Synology, but the 14 range is about to ship and it looks like there will be no box with Intel Berryville chip and HDMI. I tried the Asustor ADM demo site. ADM was light years ahead of readyNAS OS6. The UI is very iPad-esque - easy to use and attractive. And all the basics are covered. Plus I noticed there were 100 or so apps. And I have to say that I've been very impressed with various Asus products I've seen: Transformer/Nexus tablets, Zenbook ultrabooks, 802.11n/ac routers etc.
All I can say is that this Asustor is light years ahead of Netgear. I read that Asus have hired some top engineering talent from other Taiwanese NAS outfits. They started with a blank sheet. I'm really impressed with the software and the hardware is something else. They use aluminium enclosures. They only use dual core Intel processors - even in the lowest end series. XBMC, Boxee and so on. Asus want to be the number one in NAS boxes. They will get there because these generation one products are already superb and good value for money. Even the android apps are decent (though they could be prettier).
