When it comes to strengthening account security, the first thing that comes to mind is setting up a complex password. Additionally, ADM Defender and two-step authentication bring extra defenses in protecting your data.
ADM Defender
ADM Defender is an active defense mechanism. When a specific device repeatedly makes unsuccessful attempts to log in to your NAS, that device will be automatically blocked. ADM also has whitelists to set trusted devices that won’t be automatically blocked in the event a trusted user forgets their password.

Two Step Authentication
Two step authentication helps add an extra layer of security to your NAS. When enabled, you’ll need to enter a verification code in addition to your password. The verification code will be generated by an authenticator installed on your phone or tablet. The authenticator supports Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone.
