Icon Sorting of web GUI

Post by konkonkaos »

When I log in to the NAS from my desktop, the Icons are sorted alphabetically. I would like to be able to rearrange them so I can have settings on the top left. Not an important feature but a useful one.

The icons are not too many. Why not drag and drop to the location you like? I have arranged my most frequently used app to be pinned on the top menu and then the major functions dragged and dropped starting from the left top. And the less used apps, I arranged them to be in different page.

I must have been having a spaz last night. I tired moving them and they always shot back to their original position. I must admit it is easy to move icons anywhere but the top left, for some reason i had a lot of trouble getting Settings to stay there.

Thanks.

But there's something with the web gui i would like to see improved.
Now, an extra page is created when you have too many icons, but i want to create multiple pages, for different purposes. Now i have to put more and more icons (for no reason) in, to get an extra page.
Is this something that could be looked in to?

One thing I've noticed is the icon positions seem to be per-user. I spent some time once arranging everything when I first setup my NAS and then created users and stuff and everything "reset", until I realized I had stopped using "admin" and started using my new admin user matching my Windows login.
