I'm trying out this beta app and have a few questions.
1. Can you create an ASUS WebStorage account from within the app?
2. Is the WebStorage ID my email address?
3. There is a new directory created called ASUS in the Home directory, and deeper in a sync directory. Are files placed in this sync directory automatically synced to the cloud?
4. Do we get any bonus space by signing up through an ASUS product?
5. Are there any basic instructions posted anywhere or that you can send me?

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Hi there,
Please find the answer below:
1. Please visit http://www.asuswebstorage.com to get an account first.
You must have an ASUS WebStorage account and then sign in via ASUS WebStorage app.
2. Yes, when you sign up an WebStorage ID, it will as you to fill-in your email address.
3. Yes, it will automatically sync the folder and file under this directory.
4. Currently not.
5. Well, it's quite simple, please open App Central and go to Beta App to install "ASUS Webstorage" and login with your ASUS Webstorage account. After success it will sync automatically. You can use file explorer or SAMBA/ AFP to connect to NAS and manager your files.
Please let me know if you have any problem, okay

Cheers,

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Thanks for the instructions.
After my initial failure to setup ASUS WebStorage, I uninstalled the app and I deleted the ASUS directory that was left behind in my Home directory.
I have now setup an ASUS WebStorage account and reinstalled the app. The new installation did not recreate any directories or a sync folder like the initial installation did.
If you give me the path of the sync folder and I create a new one will that be sufficient, or is there other data in the ASUS folder that is required to get the sync to work?
Thanks for the assistance.

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Okay, I think I found the directory structure that should have been recreated.
/home/ASUS/ASUSWebStorage/MyEmailAddress/MySyncFolder
I have placed some photos in the MySyncFolder but they don't end up in cloud storage.
What am I missing
Thanks again,
wde

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
I created the following directory and it doesn't sync with my ASUS WebStorage account:

/home/ASUS/ASUSWebStorage/MyEmailAddress/MySyncFolder
Is there a reason why this folder is not re-created when I delete it and re-install ASUS WebStorage

Android apps work great and sync properly to the cloud. (ASUS WebStorage and MyBitCast)

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Has anyone got ASUS WebStorage [BETA] working properly?
If so, can you tell me the directory structure of where the MySyncFolder should be? I tried the following but it doesn't seem to sync with the cloud:
/home/ASUS/ASUSWebStorage/MyEmailAddress/MySyncFolder
Thanks,
wde

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Thanks to Elsa and the rest of the Asustor team for helping me to get ASUS WebStorage working.

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
ASUS WebStorage has been syncing files as expected, but with 3GB memory:
Activity Monitor when ASUS WebStorage is turned off:
Activity Monitor when ASUS WebStorage is turned on and remains on:
 (all files have been synced)
Active Processes when ASUS WebStorage is turned on:
Does this look normal

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
I'm not sure if this is related or not but, when I disable ASUS WebStorage, XBMC loads 9 times out of ten instead of 1 times out of ten.

Re: ASUS WebStorage [BETA] setup questions
Disregard this last comment. Getting XBMC to load is still hit and miss but that is for another thread.wde wrote:I'm not sure if this is related or not but, when I disable ASUS WebStorage, XBMC loads 9 times out of ten instead of 1 times out of ten.
