This nas is only going to be used for media storage. Plex will be run on my main pc. That being said...is there any reason at all to upgrade the NAS ram or m.2 drives?
This is my first NAS and am looking forward to dive in!

If you do not plan to use VM or many docker containers, I don't think you need bigger RAM. m.2 drives can be created as a storage volume. I don't think you'll need cache function for media NAS.

Just an update. I LOVE IT! Added 2x samsung 1tb m.2 drives for cache and I have 32gb of ram on the way. I couldn't resist...I HAD to upgrade!
