DNS Server
I think this would be a great addition.

Re: DNS Server
Usually a router does the job. I am not an expert but I think even large corporations with lots of workstations and the need for a DNS server use high performant routers and not file servers to do this job.

Re: DNS Server
For local DNS it could be helpfull. Devices/PC's/the NAS could be accressed by name in stead of by IP.
And not only corporations or offices are using this NAS

Re: DNS Server
If you are looking at a small office/home office type setup the DNS/WINS lookup should be handled by your router normally. I know that in my home network I have 4 laptops and a PC (VM) that can all reference the NAS by name with no "true" DNS server active, it's all handled by my DLink router. Going much larger you'd be looking at running some sort of directory server, like Active Directory, which hosts DNS itself. You'd create the CNAME pointer in that to the NAS.
That's not to say this is a bad suggestion, I have no personal familiarity with linux based DNS daemons to say if the NAS has the free power to host this service.

Re: DNS Server
I don't need it either, but to say "large company's don't need it, so ... " is perhaps not very nice to all smaller customers.
