I may be missing something but is there anyway to ensure that USB1, 2, etc always map to the same physical ports? At the moment USB1 seems to get assigned to the first USB attached no matter which port it's attached to.
Is there a configuration option I might have overlooked?
Thx

Re: Consistant USB Mapping
Hi there,
You are right about it. Because the system will recognize the 1st installed USB drive as USB1, and the second as USB2...and so forth. And these sequences may change after a system reboot. The system will then set the 1st detected USB drive as USB1 automatically, so it's possible that if you have a USB drive which is recognized as USB2, but after rebooting the system, it may become USB1.
The major drawback of this will be using the USB drive for backup. However, we do provide a solution that can help to resolve this kind of problem. When you are creating a (external) backup job, you can choose to bind this backup job to a specific USB drive by checking the [Always use the selected device for this backup job] option as marked in the attached screenshot.
