Access to NAS & Admin account are blocked via 1 PC only

Post by philip101 »

Hi,

Hoping someone can provide some assistance with an issue I'm having accessing my AS-604T.

From my main PC (Win10 PRO 64bit), I am unable to access the NAS or map network drives via the Admin account. If I try to access from Chrome, I receive a blocked webpage (screenshot 1, attached).

If I try to access via Asustor Control Center, the NAS status is shown as Blocked (screenshot 2, attached).

If I try to map a network drive from Control Center, I get an Authentication error (screenshot 3, attached).

The weird aspect is that I can access the NAS (using the admin account) from other PCs on my network - all of which are running Win10 - without any problems. I've tried creating a new user account (with the same privileges as the admin account) but this made no difference when trying to access NAS from my main PC.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You tried too many times to access it with the wrong password, so the NAS blocked your access for a time. So the first thing to do is verify the password. This is usually set to a time limit, perhaps an hour, sometimes it might be set to a day. You can configure this time.

Then from a machine you aren't locked out on, log into the ADM Web App and go to Settings -> ADM Defender -> Network Defender -> Auto Black List and remove the IP you have listed there for the main machine. To configure the time the IP is blocked go to settings here and make the changes you want to make. I have mine set to forever, since I have outside facing FTP services. And if someone hasn't gotten the link from me, I don't want them to keep hammering away at my NAS.

To make sure this never blocks your local machines again, you would go to Trusted List on that same page and enter in the IP block and subnets of all of your local machines.
