Re: asustor AS5010T and 8tb drives
I realise these new 8 TB drives are for archive use only and have rather slow writing speed .
This asustor nas will only be used for archiving.
I already have a asustor AS-608T unit and I plan to use this new asustor AS5010T raid purely as a backup divice.

Re: asustor AS5010T and 8tb drives
I don't think anyone really has tested the new 8TB drives in these things yet. BUT, you are going to use the NAS with the faster CPU and throughput as a BACK UP device, and not the other way around?
I would relegate the 60X to backing up the 5010, and use the faster processor and memory, etc. on the new device for production use. Just my $.02, though.
