What would be a nice feature from the box is an ability for the NAS to be set to watch folders on a PC/Laptop and when a new file is added/updated it copies the same across the network to the Nas, with an option for this over the Net.
While it is possible after a lot of hassle with Windows, rather have the NAS do this as it makes it more a workhorse and let one person set up over a network than multiple over PC's and Laptops,
etc.
For those like me who are or work with multiple files and graphics it would be a massive boon.

OwnCloud does this... It's basically the same as DropBox, but everything is on the NAS instead of on some cloud storage. I use it for a lot of things.
It can be somewhat problematic to do the install, but follow the instructions to the letter and it works pretty well..
