No offence but you know what the NAS, stands for ? On the network side you have options enough with the current models to have enough bandwith available (Fiber / 10Gb). Kinda useless to have a NAS act like an external drive that you place besides your PC.
Thunderbolt is doubtfull, kinda steep licence fee for manufactures to implement it.
USB 3.1 will eventually be available in new models if the new standard is mature enough en more devices are available. Still doubtfull if its usefull to have that kinda bandwith on your NAS.
Also the NAS is more an device that is made with performance at a minimum power requirement. This also means the processor has less power and maybe also not enough horsepower to run the USB3.1 data at full speed. If the 3.1 has benefits from 3.0 (with al the NAS models have already) then it will be implemented in a new Series.
But think that this wil be a year orso before Asustor will get new models out.. they just finished releasing a new line.

Hi
You are right!! But bandwith bottleneck is HDD and SATA III 6Gb/s... USB 3.1 speed 10Gb/s not make sense...
