DVD - BLUE RAY RECORDING AND EXTRACTION

Post by chris-audio »

As we can connect usb external optical drives it could be nice to have an application for copying data to nas from optical drives and ofcourse as you already support writable drives to have the option to burn an aoptical disk with files.

Hi,
From my point of view not in the near future.

2 examples,
1. I want to write an mp3 cd for my car stereo. My mp3's are stored in nas. So with an external dvd recorder i would be able to burn my cd directly without a pc.

2. My nas is my main media player in my home cinema connected to my tv and my projector through av receiver hdmi So it would be nice to connect an external blue ray player and play throught xbmc my movies. Why not to use my normal blue ray device? Because it is easier for me or my wife to have only one source to choose for everything and not to change inputs on av receiver.

I think there are more examples why it should be usefull from asustor portal to have an application managing dvd/cd/bluray recording or extraction or playing.

if a NAS can run VM, maybe it's a better solution?
