Can Asustor create an install package for the popular Pocketmine server? This is the server that works with the tablet and mobile versions of Minecraft (Minecraft PE). My AS-602T NAS would be the perfect place to host such a server for my kids and their friends to play online safely.
Failing that, can you at least update your built-in PHP version to 5.4 or later (currently 5.3.27) as this is the minimum requirement for me to get it working myself. Incidentally, I've tried getting a separate copy of PHP running on the NAS myself via ipkg and the latest it can offer me right now is even older that your builtin version (5.2.17).
If you can package up Pocketmine, you might also consider packaging up the PC/XBox version of the minecraft server at the same time (a different beast to pocketmine - it runs in java, I believe) as I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will thank you for that.
Cheers.

Re: Pocketmine (Minecraft PE) server
I'm not one that can package anything, but I don know there are two PC Minecraft packages you can find in the forums here. One, packaged by Clinton.Hall, is what I'm running on my AS608T and it's working great. My son loves it. I saw someone else post an alternate Minecraft package recently also, but I haven't tried it out - got a working one already and if it ain't broken...

Re: Pocketmine (Minecraft PE) server
Thanks Auberon2k.
I'm specifically looking for the tablet/mobile server version (PHP based). The PC one you refer to is java based and only supports PC and XBox clients - I may be interested to try that some day when my eldest son gets a PC version of Minecraft (first he needs a PC, though). However, I'll have a look and see if I can find the alternative version you saw mentioned on this forum - I'd be interested to know how that person got it working as neither the builtin version of PHP nor the latest version available to install via ipkg are up to the job...perhaps its an earlier version of the pocket edition server, prior to rewriting it with PHP 5.4.
Cheers.

Re: Pocketmine (Minecraft PE) server
I believe the alternate I saw is also a full Minecraft server, not a Pocket Edition. Sorry I wasn't reading carefully when you first posted. Hopefully someone more skilled with packaging than I can help you out!

There is a linux version on pocketmine.net. I don't know what is required to install it and run it.
