Web Browser inside ADM

Post by Charles_Chi4 »

Hi,

I'm a user of AS-606T and would like request for web browser (Chrome so far) to be able to work inside ASDM as well, other than projection to TV / Monitor via HDMI.

Why? You need a browser to use ADM anyway, why not just use that?

I'm with organization which restrict most non-business related websites to be accessed. I can use this feature for my own personal use without breaching any security policy. And there's no restriction to access my NAS using myasustor.com domain.

I'm in the same boat... I use the VPN server (openVPN) on my nas, then use the client on my work PC to connect to my NAS via myasustor dns.
All internet traffic is safely routed to my Asustor... This is certainly more efficient than trying to run a browser app that would be accessible via a browser...

Without VPN, I also can achieve the same using bitvise ssh client to connect to my NAS and use this as an http proxy.

Hmm, ok, I understand your use case but asustor can't port chrome to ADM, the ADM you're accessing through your browser is just a web-application, chrome cannot run on it. A VNC solution might be feasible though, then you would basically be accessing Chrome running in Xorg on your NAS. Other than that clinton.hall is on point.

While not perfect, you could always just install Glype: http://forum.asustor.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1899
